Halti OptiFit Dog Headcollar
Halti OptiFit Dog Headcollar is a fully adjustable no-pull walking aid for dogs whose head shapes do not fit a standard headcollar easily. Its noseband and cheek straps can be tailored for a more individual fit.
The lead attaches beneath the chin, allowing the handler to guide the dog’s direction when pulling occurs. A cushioned noseband supports comfort, while reflective cheek straps improve visibility in low light.

OptiFit may suit dogs such as Greyhounds and some broader- or shorter-nosed breeds that fall between standard Halti sizes. Company of Animals states that it is not suitable for flat-nosed dogs.
Measure snugly around the top of the neck before choosing a size. Small fits 24–40cm, Medium 42–54cm and Large 48–64cm neck circumference.
Adjust the noseband so it cannot slide over the nose, while still allowing the dog to pant, drink and accept small rewards. The cheek straps should sit securely without contacting the eyes.
Attach the safety link to a correctly fitted collar before connecting the lead beneath the chin. This provides a secondary connection if the dog removes the headcollar.
Introduce OptiFit gradually with positive reinforcement. Reward the dog for placing its nose through the loop, begin with very short periods and increase wearing time only while the dog remains calm.
Never jerk or sharply correct a dog through a headcollar. Use gentle lead handling, stop when the lead tightens and reward slack-lead walking.
Do not leave the dog unattended or allow prolonged wear. Remove the headcollar after the walk and prevent the dog from rubbing it against rough surfaces.
Inspect the webbing, padding, safety link and clips regularly. Clean according to the physical care instructions and dry before storage.
