Materials & Safety
The main body uses bluesign-approved polyester air mesh. The pockets are made from 150D fabric containing 91% polyester and 9% spandex, with 20 mm nylon webbing, ITW Nexus Mach 1 cam-lock buckles and YKK reverse-coil zips.
- Inspect the mesh, pockets, buckles, stitching and lead loop before use.
- Balance the flask contents on both sides.
- Do not overload the vest or use it for excessive weight.
- Monitor for rubbing, fatigue, overheating or restricted movement.
- Attach the lead only to the reinforced rear webbing loop.
- Replace damaged flasks or hardware before the next outing.
Hand wash with mild detergent and air dry fully. Clean and dry the soft flasks according to their care instructions before storage.
Setup & Use
Measure around the widest part of the dog’s rib cage. XS fits 43–56 cm, S fits 56–69 cm, M fits 69–81 cm and L/XL fits 81–107 cm. Ruffwear advises choosing the smaller size when between sizes.
| Size | Chest Girth | Total Capacity | Included Flasks |
|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 43–56 cm | 0.8 L | 2 × 360 ml |
| S | 56–69 cm | 1.1 L | 2 × 500 ml |
| M | 69–81 cm | 1.2 L | 2 × 500 ml |
| L/XL | 81–107 cm | 1.3 L | 2 × 500 ml |
Fit the vest with contents first, adjust the straps, then recheck for rubbing after movement. Keep the load balanced and increase the dog’s familiarity gradually.
