Sticky Paws Furniture Strips

Sticky Paws Furniture Strips are transparent adhesive sheets designed to discourage inappropriate scratching on compatible household furnishings. The exposed surface has a texture that feels unpleasant to a cat’s paws, helping make the treated location less attractive without blocking the area with a bulky physical barrier.

Each pack contains 24 kiss-cut adhesive sheets for targeted placement on selected furniture sections. The transparent format helps the strips remain discreet while the cat is redirected towards an approved scratching post, board or mat that provides a suitable outlet for normal scratching behaviour.

The strips are manufactured from inert, non-toxic materials and use a medical-grade adhesive. They may also help discourage inappropriate elimination on treated areas, but surface compatibility must always be checked before application because some finishes and fabrics can be affected by adhesive products.

Materials and Surface Safety

Sticky Paws may damage some surfaces, including wood finishes, painted surfaces, leather, vinyl, microfibre and wallpaper. It is also ineffective on materials treated with non-stick or stain-repellent products.

  • Always test one small piece in an inconspicuous area.
  • Do not use if the adhesive affects colour, finish or texture.
  • Do not apply directly to an animal or person.
  • Keep unused and removed sheets away from children and pets.
  • The product is not intended for human or animal consumption.
  • Remove and discard sheets that do not adhere correctly.

Directions for Use

  1. Clean and dry the target surface.
  2. Test a small hidden area before applying a full strip.
  3. Peel away the backing and position the adhesive side on the compatible furnishing.
  4. Press the strip into place and expose the outer tactile surface.
  5. Replace the strip weekly or sooner if it becomes dirty, loose or damaged.
  6. Provide a scratching post or board nearby and praise appropriate use.

Remove the strips gently by hand. If a sheet does not adhere properly or the surface changes during testing, remove it promptly and choose another training method for that item. Continue rewarding the cat for using a nearby approved scratcher so the preferred behaviour becomes easier to repeat.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do Sticky Paws Furniture Strips work?
They create a transparent tactile surface that cats generally find unpleasant to touch with their paws.

How many sheets are included?
Each pack contains 24 kiss-cut adhesive sheets.

Can they be used on every type of furniture?
No. Some finishes and fabrics can be damaged, so a hidden-area test is essential.

Do they work on stain-resistant fabrics?
They may not adhere to surfaces treated with non-stick or stain-repellent products.

How often should they be replaced?
The manufacturer recommends weekly replacement.

Should a scratcher still be provided?
