JW Playbites Caterpillar Dog Toy
JW Playbites Caterpillar Dog Toy is a flexible natural rubber chew and enrichment toy shaped like a segmented caterpillar. Multiple recessed pockets can hold small treats or pieces of kibble, encouraging a dog to lick, nudge and work for the food.
The soft rubber construction provides a gentler chewing texture than rigid plastic and is intended for teething puppies or light chewers. The long segmented shape also gives the dog several areas to grip and carry during supervised play.
- Natural rubber chew toy
- Multiple treat-stuffing pockets
- Supports licking and food-based enrichment
- Gentle on teeth and gums
- Suitable for teething puppies and light chewers
- Available in Small/Medium and Large
Use part of the dog’s measured meal or small treats in the pockets to create several rewards.
Begin with loosely placed treats before using more challenging fillings.
Natural rubber is resilient, but this model is not intended for aggressive or highly destructive chewing. Petmate positions the Playbites Caterpillar for puppies and light chewers, while Canine & Co advises against allowing chewing that damages the toy.
Select a size too large to swallow and supervise the first sessions closely.
Wash the toy after food use with warm water and mild soap, rinse thoroughly and allow every treat pocket to dry. Food residue should not remain inside the recessed sections between play sessions.
Inspect the caterpillar before and after play. Before every clean storage period. Remove and replace it if the rubber develops deep cuts, tears, missing pieces or another change that could create a choking or swallowing risk.
