Exitel Plus XL is an oral veterinary dewormer registered for the treatment of mixed nematode and cestode infections in adult dogs. Each tablet is yellow, oblong, flavoured and uncoated, with a cross break-line on both sides.

The product is intended for adult dogs requiring treatment against susceptible mixed worm infections. Accurate body-weight assessment is important because the amount administered is determined by the dog’s weight.

The tablets can be given directly or hidden in a small portion of food. When concealed in food, confirm that the dog consumes the complete portion and does not leave or spit out the tablet.

Where there is a risk of frequent reinfestation, veterinary advice should be obtained regarding the timing and frequency of repeat administration rather than treating repeatedly without a parasite-control plan.

Active Ingredients

Each Exitel Plus XL tablet contains three complementary anthelmintic ingredients formulated to treat susceptible nematode and cestode infections in dogs.

The product is indicated for susceptible roundworms including Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina, hookworms including Uncinaria stenocephala and Ancylostoma caninum, and adult Trichuris vulpis whipworms.

Tapeworm coverage includes susceptible Echinococcus species, Taenia species and Dipylidium caninum. Flea control is particularly important where Dipylidium caninum is involved because dogs may become reinfected after ingesting infected fleas.

Parasite resistance can develop when the same class of dewormer is used frequently and repeatedly. Veterinary investigation may be required when worms persist despite correctly administered treatment.

Directions & Warnings

Use Exitel Plus XL only as directed on the current product packaging or by a veterinarian. Determine the dog’s body weight as accurately as possible before administration and use the correct tablet combination for that weight.
