CarSafe Crash Tested Dog Harness
CarSafe Crash Tested Dog Harness is designed to restrain a dog during vehicle travel while providing a practical walking harness at the destination. It is crash-test certified for dogs up to 32kg.
The harness was tested at an Office of Vehicle Safety Compliance registered laboratory facility. Its restraint system connects directly to the vehicle seat belt without requiring a separate extension clip.
- Crash-test certified for dogs up to 32kg
- Connects directly to the vehicle seat belt
- Lightweight single-loop webbing design
- Padded and breathable chest panel
- Reflective front fabric improves visibility
- Front and back walking lead points
- Available locally in Small, Medium and Large
The cushioned chest construction distributes restraint across the body rather than attaching a car belt to a collar. A collar should not be used as the main vehicle-restraint connection.
At the destination, front and back lead attachment points allow the harness to be used for walking. Confirm that every travel strap is arranged correctly before changing between car and walking use.
Fit is critical. Measure the dog according to the current sizing guide, adjust the straps evenly and ensure the chest panel lies flat without restricting breathing or shoulder movement.
The harness must remain secure without rubbing the armpits, pressing into the throat or preventing comfortable sitting and lying down.
Place the restrained dog on the rear seat or in another appropriate rear vehicle area. Never secure a dog in front of an active airbag.
Check that the vehicle belt is fully engaged before driving and keep the restraint short enough to limit excessive movement without forcing an unnatural posture.
Crash testing cannot guarantee protection in every collision. Correct fitting, safe driving and regular inspection remain essential.
Inspect all webbing, clips, stitching and attachment points before each journey. Replace the harness after severe loading, visible damage or a vehicle collision.
