Ruffwear Knot-a-Collar Lichen Green for Low-Profile Everyday Wear
The Ruffwear Knot-a-Collar Lichen Green is a low-profile reflective rope dog collar inspired by climbing equipment. Its 7 mm rope settles into short or long fur, while sliding fisherman’s knots allow the neck fit to be adjusted within the selected size range.
The Lichen Green colourway adds a vivid green finish to the climbing-inspired rope design. Integrated reflective trim supports visibility in low-light conditions.
- Low-profile 7 mm rope construction
- Reflective trim for low-light visibility
- Adjustable sliding fisherman’s knots
- Anodised aluminium V-ring for lead attachment
- Separate Quick Ring identification attachment
- Silicone tag silencer
Climbing-Inspired Design with Separate Hardware
Attach the lead only to the aluminium V-ring. Use the separate Quick Ring for identification tags, and check regularly that the knots, rope and hardware remain in good condition.

The Ruffwear Knot-a-Collar Lichen Green uses separate hardware for the lead and identification tags. Its simple rope profile is designed to sit comfortably within the coat and may help reduce matting around the neck compared with bulkier collar constructions.
Materials & Fit
The collar is made from 7 mm kernmantle polypropylene rope with reflective trim. Its hardware includes an anodised 6061-T6 aluminium V-ring and belay plate, together with a silicone tag silencer.
Adjust both sliding knots so the collar sits securely without restricting breathing or natural neck movement. Check the fit regularly, particularly after the knots have been moved or the collar has become wet.
- Inspect the rope, knots and metal hardware before use.
- Use the V-ring only for lead attachment.
- Do not use the collar for lifting or as a vehicle restraint.
- Remove it if damaged or no longer fitting correctly.
- Supervise wear where the collar could catch on surrounding objects.
Hand wash with mild detergent, rinse thoroughly and air dry. Allow the collar to dry completely before storage.
Ruffwear Knot-a-Collar Size Guide
Measure around the dog’s neck where the collar will sit. Keep the measuring tape level and close to the coat without pulling it tight. Ruffwear advises selecting the larger option when the measurement falls between sizes.
| Size | Neck Measurement | Rope Width |
|---|---|---|
| 14–20 in | 36–51 cm | 7 mm |
| 20–26 in | 51–66 cm | 7 mm |
After adjustment, confirm that the collar cannot slip over the dog’s head during ordinary movement. It should remain comfortable when the dog walks, sits and lies down. Recheck the fit as the dog’s coat, weight or neck measurement changes.
