Advantage Flea Protection for Cats

Advantage Flea Protection for Cats is a monthly topical treatment containing imidacloprid. It kills fleas and biting lice within 24 hours and helps protect cats against flea reinfestation for up to four weeks.

Imidacloprid acts through contact, meaning fleas do not need to bite the cat before being affected. The treatment also helps control larval flea stages in the animal’s surroundings and supports interruption of the flea life cycle.

Two weight-based options are available. Small uses one 0.4ml pipette for cats up to 4kg, while Large uses one 0.8ml pipette for cats weighing over 4kg.

Advantage is a flea and biting-lice treatment. It does not provide tick, heartworm, intestinal-worm or mite protection, so additional parasite control may be required according to the cat’s lifestyle and local risk.

Apply the full pipette directly onto intact skin at the back of the neck. Part the coat until the skin is visible and avoid placing the liquid only on top of the fur.

Keep recently treated animals apart until the application site has dried so they cannot lick or groom one another. Temporary salivation can occur if the solution is licked.

The product solvent may mark plastic, leather, fabric or finished surfaces. Allow the treatment site to dry before the cat rests against sensitive household materials.

For established household infestations, environmental cleaning and treatment of every suitable pet may be needed. Wash bedding, vacuum regularly and follow veterinary advice for safe household flea control.
