SmartCat Ultimate Litter Mat

SmartCat Ultimate Litter Mat is a reversible, double-layered mat designed to trap loose litter as a cat leaves the tray. The 91.4 × 61 cm surface provides a generous landing area around the litter station and is particularly useful with lightweight litter that may travel easily on paws.

Loose granules move into the mat rather than remaining only on the exposed surface. When the mat needs emptying, it can be rolled up and the collected litter tipped out, helping keep routine floor clean-up focused around the tray.

The material is soft beneath the paws, and the mat can be used on either side. Its washable design supports ongoing hygiene when ordinary shaking or emptying is no longer enough. A quick shake about once a week can also help prevent litter from building up inside the layers between more thorough cleaning sessions during routine care in busy households.

The SmartCat Ultimate Litter Mat works best when the cat steps across it while leaving the tray. The generous size allows the litter station to be arranged so that more than one exit direction is covered.

Materials & Safety

The mat has a soft, double-layered construction that captures litter between its layers. The full material composition is not specified on the official product page.

  • Lay the mat flat on a clean indoor floor.
  • Check that the edges are not curled before use.
  • Remove collected litter regularly to avoid build-up.
  • Inspect both sides for wear after washing.
  • Do not machine dry the mat.
  • Replace it if damaged sections affect safe placement.

If a compacted clay-litter clump forms inside the mat, cover the area with cardboard and break the clump into smaller pieces before removing it. Avoid using a sharp object that could damage the mat.

Cleaning Instructions

  1. Roll the mat carefully and tip out loose collected litter.
  2. Shake it periodically to help prevent litter build-up.
  3. Hand wash when needed, or machine wash using cold water.
  4. Choose the delicate cycle when using a washing machine.
  5. Lay the mat flat to dry completely.
  6. Do not place it in a tumble dryer.

Return the mat to the litter area only once it is fully dry and lies flat. Position it directly along the cat’s usual route out of the tray for effective coverage.
